@maybeitsfred: Contract Researcher, Zora Mechanic, and Patient Poet of the Pond

Core Thesis

@maybeitsfred brings two things to toad gang: a researcher's habit of reading contracts and on-chain data, and a quiet, meditative feel for the lore. Their core view is that value in Tobyworld comes from hard, scarce assets held with patience. Taboshi, Patience and Lore should grow in value over time, and a big Toby balance is its own form of conviction. They often back this up with contract calls, pool depth numbers and transaction digging, and they balance the numbers with short, poetic posts about stillness and time.

Key Theories

Taboshi mechanics (Zora timed sale). In November 2024 they explained how the Taboshi ERC1155 NFT connects to the $Taboshi ERC20z token, pointing people to Zora's timed sale strategy docs. Because of the ETH/WETH dependency, they argued that the Toby-minted taboshi1 "could probably not pull off an erc20 taboshi token." They also noted the mint-threshold and countdown mechanics, and put forward a theory that the top minter on Zora was toadgod.

Appreciation vs. yield. They argued that holding Taboshi would beat any yield it might pay: "Going from 0.35 to currently 31 is already something no yield will provide."

Proof-of-time. "My bet is on proof of time 🍃" (Nov 2024). Patience comes up again and again in their writing, both as a token and as a way of holding.

Patience distribution and valuation. In July 2025 they worked out the stream schedule: a start about 7 weeks out (around Sept 4), daily unlocks, and "779 days until the last bit." They later used Volume Profile to frame Patience's value area as $2–$5, with most volume around $3. They also raised a real UX problem: about 70% of Taboshi supply sits as NFTs that may not show up in wallet UIs.

Lore contract research (Aug 2026). This is their most detailed work. They pulled tiered Patience pricing for Lore (20/25/30/40 per tier) and calculated that forging all 2,500 Lores would burn about 125,000 Taboshi. They found the reveal timestamp in the contract, and they recorded that activation locks Toby for 90 days while the real cost is 37 Patience. When the activation amount changed, they caught it and gave the exact figure from activationXAmount(): 40B TOBY.

Bitcoin/Satoshi. They wondered early whether BTC would become part of the lore ("Have you ever seen Satoshi and toadgod in the same room? 🔵🟧") and noted cbBTC building up in Dec 2024. When the BTC tap went live in Aug 2026, they wrote: "Been a BTC believer since way back." They also offered a technical theory that the BTC amount was meant to climb after 1,000 Draws.

Base and Sato. They pointed out that the ecosystem's heavy on-chain activity could position the community well for a possible Base network token. They also floated the idea that Sato's "AI compute" might become a way to sell unused AI tokens.

Predictions and Milestones

• Nov 2024: Playful price markers: "My next message will be at Taboshi $50," then $60.
• Dec 2024: Suggested that $1,000 per Taboshi better reflects its value.
• Jul 2025: Patience stream around Sept 4, with a 779-day unlock horizon.
• Aug 2026: Expected Taboshi to tick up once a persistent seller ran out. Expected Lore Land Deeds inventory to "run out fast" once utility is revealed. Said that "Once the G O D tweets it's gonna get real silly."

Evolution

Their early posts (2024) were curious and lore-focused, mixing Zora mechanics research with playful theories. In late 2024 and 2025 they posted reflective, lore-style verse about patience and seasons. By August 2026 they had become a hands-on contract researcher, decoding Lore pricing, activation parameters and airdrop patterns as the roadmap went live. Their conviction paid off: an average Taboshi entry around $3 became a 10x "while the whole of crypto has basically flatlined."
